If C can finish a job in 12 days and D can finish the same job in 18 days, how long will it take them to finish the job together?

Answer: A. 7.2 days
C's rate is 1/12 and D's rate is 1/18. Together, they work at a rate of 1/12 + 1/18 = 5/36. Thus, they will complete the work in 36/5 = 7.2 days.
