If 2x + 3y = 12 and 3x - 2y = 5, then x and y must have the values :

Answer: D. 3 and 2

Multiplying first equation by 2 and second by 3 and adding we get x = 3.
Putting x = 3 in 1st,
we get 2 x 3 + 3y = 12
.`. 3y = 6
.'. y = 2.
So x = 3 and y = 2.
