A and B can complete a work in 18 days and 24 days respectively. If they work together for 6 days, how much of the work is left?

Answer: C. 1/2
In 6 days, A and B together complete 6 * (1/18 + 1/24) = 6 * (4/72 + 3/72) = 6 * (7/72) = 7/12 of the work. Therefore, 1 - 7/12 = 5/12 is left.
